There are a multitude of reasons you may need to surrender your pet. These may be that you are moving and cannot take the pet with you due to residency restrictions. Maybe you just cannot afford your pet anymore. Your pet is destructive, sick, injured, or not in good health. Sometimes pets become unsafe for children or other occupants in the home, or maybe the pet has shown a change in temperament causing concern for general safety.
And we are not just for dogs & cats. We will accept most animals including reptiles, rodents, exotics, birds, insects, and small livestock.
We are currently unable to accept large livestock such as cattle or horses, however please contact us for referrals for these pets!
Whatever the reason, we accept pets from throughout the metroplex.

Although not required, we do ask that any pet surrendered be properly vaccinated and altered. Please give us all medical records for the animal. We will gladly send any other pet belongings with the pet if it is adopted. These items would be crates/cages, bedding, toys, medications, or other supplies.
Unfortunately, Texas Animal Control Solutions can never guarantee being able to find a home for a pet you choose to surrender. We certainly make every attempt to find all adoptable pets a new forever home. We do offer a “no-kill” option. Here is how it works:
An owner may choose to rent a kennel from one of our shelters until their pet finds a new home. We will charge the pet owner $10.00 per night to keep the pet in our shelter. The pet owner must have a valid credit card number on file and we will charge the pet owner 30 days in advance plus the cost of the owner surrender fee. In the event the pet is adopted, any prepaid days will be refunded. The pet owner will authorize Texas Animal Control Solutions to charge the card monthly until the pet is adopted. The pet owner may remove the surrendered animal from the shelter at any time, however the surrender fee is non-refundable.
